Hi! I’m Taylor! I spent my younger years exploring beaches/oceans, running and falling in love with Disney and Harry Potter from afar. After my husband and I moved back to the Lower 48 from Hawaii (he was in the Navy) we decided to go visit some family who live close by and did a day at Disney (our first wedding anniversary, January 1st, 2020!). We fell in love and knew we were one day coming back. After having our daughter in 2021, we went for our very belated honeymoon, and then we went back 6 months later for our first runDisney weekend, the Dopey Challenge. We caught the bug and now have been at least 10 times since for small trips or race weekends!
3 Things have been a huge part of my life since I was little. The ocean, traveling with family and running.
The ocean was something I was always in awe of. I was obsessed with the beach and my dream job was a marine biologist. After high school, I attended Coastal Carolina University (Go Chants!) and received a Bachelors of Science in Marine Science with a minor in Coastal Geology. I spent 3 weeks studying abroad in Jamaica researching the Coral Reefs from a Geological point of view and after I ended up being a part of a couple research teams, studying the Elwha River with the University of Washington and working in the Turks and Caicos- I then became a SCUBA instructor while living in Hawaii.
Travel: Like many, I love to travel and see new places. My husband and I were able to visit some amazing places when we lived in Hawaii: we snorkeled in Tonga, climbed waterfalls in Fiji, and ran around in Hobbiton, New Zealand. We have since been able to travel with our daughter for her first international trip to Jamaica where we went to Beaches Ocho Rios in June of 2024. She now thinks going to the beach is going to Jamaica! Haha!
Lastly, running has always been a part of my life since I did Girls on the Run in 2004. I became a RRCA certified running coach in 2022 after running Dopey and opened up my own running coaching business, Miles Beyond! Soon after that I also became an Orangetheory coach. I have been doing both of those ever since and have been itching to do something else I love doing for my friends and family; planning magical trips! I can’t wait to help you plan your magical race-cation, or next family trip to the world beyond!
Favorite theme park tip - If you have a little one or you yourself have a hard time with crowds, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties are the way to go! You get a specific spot in the hub and you’re not over crowded and have room for the kids to run around before the show.
Favorite Disney Snack- The create your own popcorn at Magic Kingdom Main Street Confectionary, it’s seriously the most underrated snack!!!
Favorite Restaurants- Our pre-race/post-expo tradition is Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village. Get the bread service, you won’t be disappointed! My favorite Character Dining is Story Book Dining at Artist’s Point. The character interactions are unique and not something you get at other places on property!
Favorite Disney Resort- We LOVE Pop Century especially for runDisney race weekends. They literally roll out the red carpet and have a huge celebration for you each time you come back from a race! They have photo ops, buttons and snacks! In general, we love being on the skyliner route as well, quick easy trip to Hollywood Studios or Epcot or just to get an ice cream on the Boardwalk!
Favorite Disney drink- I’m here for the Moonshine Sour at the American Pavilion.
Favorite runDisney race- Marathon Weekend was our first race weekend (Dopey Challenge) and I have been back for Dopey every year since! But Springtime Surprise is growing on me!
Favorite Disney Memory - I have two favorite memories. Running down Main Street USA while the 50th anniversary castle was lit up with my husband while dressed as the 50th anniversary Minnie and Mickey and dancing with my daughter after the Happily Ever After Fireworks in the hub.
