Disney has been my family's favorite vacation destination since before I was born. Disney obsession is an inherited trait in my family. My dad went to Walt Disney World within the first year of it opening and fell in love and passed that love on to his children. We travelled to Disney almost every year of my childhood (this has continued into my adulthood). One of my fondest memories is playing cards in a Florida Thunderstorm at our campsite in Fort Wilderness Campground.
As we grew up, our taste for thrills increased and we started including Universal Studios Orlando into our Florida Adventures. We loved the more intense roller coasters and more "adult" feel to these parks, despite there still being enough fun for the whole family.
In 2022, after reading the Harry Potter books for the first time (the movies got much love but I did not find a joy in reading until well into my adulthood), I insisted to my husband that I needed to go to Universal Studios to revisit Hogsmead and visit Diagon Alley for the first time to truly appreciate all the lands had to offer. What was supposed to be a weekend trip ended with us getting Annual Passes and returning to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter many times throughout the year.
Along with Harry Potter adventures we also ventured to Halloween Horror Nights for the first time. This sparked an obsession that will have me and my sister returning to HHN every year (multiple times- thank goodness for Rush of Fear and Frequent Fear passes).
RunDisney has also become a recent passion of mine with completing my very first half marathon in 2023. It was such a magical experience that I have at least one race planned each year for the next two years. I can't wait to go run some more magical miles and some day complete a race challenge!
